The Voyager UTP 6 port and 12 port Rackmounted Extender extends up to 12 computers to 1,000ft from a slim rackmountable chassis. This device is ideal for server rooms, trading rooms, expos and other locations where you need to extend multiple rackmounted PCs.

Basic Concepts

The Voyager Rackmount stays neatly mounted in a single rack unit and extends up to 12 computers to a remotely positioned keyboard, monitor and mouse up to 1,000 ft. away. Each computer is extended over a single Cat 5 cable, which reduces your installation cost while increasing flexibility. Manual video equalization allows you to optimize the picture quality for your set-up.

How It Works

The Rackmounted transmitter chassis contains up to 12 transmitter units. Each transmitter unit is connected to one PC. The transmitters work transparently by sending and receiving all signals through Category 5 cable to the remote unit, which serves your keyboard, monitor and mouse. High quality keyboard and mouse emulation allows for unattended booting and eliminates computer lock-ups that could otherwise occur without a direct connection to keyboard and mouse.

Each transmitter comes with a compact interface cable for connecting the transmitter to the CPU. The cables on your compatible keyboard, monitor and mouse plug directly into the Voyager remote units. You can connect each transmitter and receiver with existing Cat 5 cable.

- 6 rackmounted single access transmitters for PCs with serial devices. Like the Single version, but with serial port for control of printer, tablet or other serial device.

- 12 rackmounted transmitters for PCs

12 Port Dual Access Rackmount

- 12 rackmounted dual access transmitters for PCs. Like the Single version, but with access ports for local keyboard video and mouse as well.

Receiver Versions

Mini Receiver

- 150ft palm-sized remote.

Standard Receiver

- 1,000ft low-profile remote.

Serial Receiver

- 1,000ft remote model with serial support. Serial transmitter required.

Compatibility

The Voyager Rackmount is compatible with Windows95/98/00/NT, Linux, DOS, UNIX, Novell Netware and many other operating systems. Video resolutions of up to 1280x1024 to 400 ft. and 1024x768 to 1,000 ft. are supported The Voyager works on VGA, SVGA and XVGA monitors and supports PS/2, wheel-type and Logitech PS/2 3-button mice, as well as PS/2 and AT keyboards.

The Voyager works indepent of your network and although it uses the same type of cable, it should never be connected to a live network cable.
