Rose Multistation

Product Overview

Access one computer from multiple locations

When you need to access one computer from multiple locations, MultiStation is the product for you. The MultiStation allows multiple keyboard, video, and mouse stations to access a single computer. There are a variety of applications for the Multistation, such as point-of-sale, office collaboration, software development, CAD/CAM, production floor, conference room presentations and many more.

How It Works

The MultiStation allows fully automatic sharing on a first-come, first-serve basis driving KVM signals up to 100 feet away. At default settings any KVM station can access the computer. While in use by one KVM station, another station cannot begin using the keyboard or mouse, but can view the monitor. After a programable time-out period expires (default: 2 seconds) any KVM station may take control simply by typing or moving the mouse. The unit also splits the video signal so that the same screen can be displayed on all monitors.

Enable, disable, freeze commands

Enable, disable and freeze commands are used to further control access by stations. The commands themselves can be enabled or disabled on a per workstation basis by the front panel dip switches. The enable and disable commands allow you to control whether other KVM stations can have access to the computer. The disable disconnects the keyboard and mouse and turns the video off on all other stations. The enable restores all the stations. The freeze command is the same as the disable, but the video is not affected and remains on.

Keyboard and Mouse

MultiStation provides adjustable keyboard typematic rate and delay on each station. It supports PC keyboard modes 1, 2, and 3, which means the MultiStation is compatible with all PCs, all IBM computers, and with Unix workstations. This is synchronized between all keyboards automatically. In addition, the Num/Caps/Scroll Lock LEDS on the keyboards are always synchronized. MultiStation supports both PS/2 and serial mouse. It can translate from PS/2 to serial or serial to PS/2 mouse individually on each KVM station.

MultiStation provides automatic enabling of PS/2 mouse when its cable is reconnected. There is a keyboard and mouse reset command to re-initialize these devices. All programmed settings are save in Flash memory which maintains your preferences even after power loss.
