The Nomad 140i USB 2.0 is the industry's first Hi-Speed USB extender and represents a new generation of ExtremeUSB technology.
Nomad 140i extends USB 2.0 connections up to 50 meters over standard Category 5 UTP cable, providing support for a single USB device at up to 480 Mb/s.
How it works
Nomad 140i sends USB information over a standard Cat5 UTP cable (same cable used for Ethernet LAN). This techology "ExtremeUSB®", demands no software installation, neither in the PC or the USB unit and is therefore independent fo the operating system
The Nomad 140i USB extender kit consists of 2 seperate units: The Local unit (TX) and the Remote unit (RX). An ordinary CAT5 cable is used to connect the units, along with a USB cable connected to the PC and a USB cable to connect the USB equipment to the RX unit. The max distance between the TX and the RX can be up to 50 meters.
